Somkhit “Kit” Boonheuan is joining the All-In Milwaukee team as the new Program Manager. As a first-generation student from a limited-income background himself, Kit is passionate and committed to everything that All-In Milwaukee stands for. In this new role, Kit will be responsible for managing the All-In Milwaukee Scholar Recruitment and Selection/Decision process as well as Pathway Partner Relationships. In addition, he will provide support to the Program Team on various aspects of program implementation as needed.
Prior to All-In Milwaukee, Kit attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he graduated with a BA in Political Science. Upon graduation, Kit decided to take a gap year between his undergraduate and graduate studies to pursue an AmeriCorps term of service with College Possible Milwaukee, providing coaching and support to over 200 college students from limited-income backgrounds. It was through his term of service where Kit discovered his passion to help eliminate the opportunity and achievement gaps that exist in today’s education system, which led him to complete not one but two terms of service. Little did he know the skills gained through that experience would provide him with the foundation and edge to serve as College Possible Milwaukee’s College Program Coordinator for three years, delivering solid program results, tackling large organizational projects and initiatives, and helping to personally and professionally develop AmeriCorps members who came after him. What Kit thought would be a one-year stint with College Possible Milwaukee blossomed into almost nine years where he was most recently College Program Manager.
Kit is excited to continue in this work and be all in with All-In Milwaukee. He looks forward to growing alongside the organization, the team and the amazing scholars.
